A Popular Intercom Live Chat Alternative

February 16, 2018

We know which live chat services people switch to because we run a see the user's screen from live chat service that integrates with live chat tools. We know that LiveChat.com is one of the Intercom competitors that they move to.

What size team is LiveChat for?

It covers the range from small to large. Critically, it can handle very large team sizes as we know some of our customers use LiveChat and have large teams. They've been around for a long time and have a great array of stable features.

What's the pricing like?

It's priced per agent. Whereas Intercom charges per agent and for the total number of users in the system (probably because of their campaign software), LiveChat charges per agent.

The cost is as low as $20 per month up to $60 per month for the business plan.

How simple is the setup?

LiveChat.com, like many live chat companies, has the typical 'copy and paste of installation' code to get going. It's no different from the rest.

Any cool additional features?

Yes, of course. They have a huge marketplace of integrations and you have the magical screen sharing solution called UserView available to integrate into it. Then, when you chat, you can see what the customer sees in a single click and reach out remotely to draw on the customer's screen.

That's a lifesaver when working with less tech-savvy customers.

Excellent customer service

These guys are on it. That's all I need to say here.

What's the one key difference between LiveChat and Intercom?

LiveChat does not do the onboarding emails that the Intercom messages & outbound module does.

Intercom, in some ways, is a CRM and drip email tool as much as it is a live chat tool. LiveChat focuses on live chat and provides 3rd party integrations to do the emailing.

It's a surprising service as the details are so good and the customer support is incredible. They give a damn. Check out some of their Shopify integration reviews.
